New Requirements for High-Pressure and Steam Cleaners

The minister of Industry has issued Ministerial Regulations regarding the requirements for High-Pressure Cleaners and Steam Cleaners, Specifically Main Powered Motors of 220 Volts, to Meet Standards. The regulations were published in the Ministerial Information Bulletin No. 10860 on the 1st of November 2022. These additional regulations aim to control high-pressure and steam cleaners to ensure they meet the required quality and safety requirements. They will not be enforced on high-pressure cleaners and steam cleaners using battery-operated motors, internal combustion engines operated, and hydraulic motors or pneumatic motors operated. This is being done to prevent potential damages to the public, industrial businesses, and the country’s economy. They come into force 60 days after publication in the Government Gazette on the 28th of October. The regulations stipulate that high-pressure cleaners and steam cleaners, specifically of main powered motors of 220 volts, shall meet the TIS No. 60335, Volume 2 (79) – 2563, under the Notification of Ministry of Industry No. 6168 (B.E. 2564 (2021)) Issued under Industrial Product Standards Act B.E. 2511 (1968). These Ministerial Regulations will not be enforced on high-pressure cleaners and steam cleaners using battery-operated motors, internal combustion engines operated, and hydraulic motors or pneumatic motors operated.
