Skilled-based Wage Rate Adjustments

On the 10th of January 2023, the Chairman of the Wage Committee issued a notice relating to wage rates according to skill standards. These amendments came into force on the 29th of January 2023.

Employers are required to pay their employees according to the skill standard which the job description and position require, the rates of which are outlined below:

Employees who pass the skill standards test of any branch and level, prior to or after this Notice is effective, if wanting to exercise their right to that wage rate, must submit a certificate to their employer as evidence that they have passed the skill standards test without delay. Once the employer receives the letter, they shall pay the wage rate according to the rates fixed above from the date of receiving the certificate.
